The Right of Access to Information Act, 2013 gives effect to the constitutional right of every citizen to access information held by public bodies, subject to limited exceptions (Article 22 of the Act) such as information that may harm protected interests like national security or individual privacy. Public bodies are required to respond to requests and, where a request is declined, requesters may seek an internal review within 60 days of the decision.
